Regional Innovation Strategies as Drivers of Innovation
On March 17, 2025, accent Inkubator in Tulln an der Donau hosted a discussion on the role of regional innovation hubs in an increasingly networked and technology-driven world.
One example of regional innovation is the planned Start-up Village Tulln. This is being developed in close cooperation with the province of Lower Austria and partners such as Danube University Krems, Technopol Tulln, and private companies. The goal is to create a vibrant incubator for technology-oriented start-ups in the bioeconomy and life sciences sectors that will harness regional potential and provide new impetus for rural areas.
The project relies on co-working spaces, research infrastructure, targeted support, and close networking with established industries to help young companies on their way to market maturity. The proximity to research institutions such as the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) and the Austrian Center of Industrial Biotechnology (acib) offers significant synergies.
